Ramazan Zhampiissov has led the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center since September 2019. He has an extensive experience in sustainable development of energy and environment protection. In December 2009, he graduated from the George Washington University with MS degree in Engineering Management focusing in Environmental and Energy Management Program. After his graduation, he joined to the KAZENERGY Association - the largest union of energy companies in Kazakhstan - and rose to the Executive Director position responsible for international cooperation and sustainable development. Since March 2018, he has been leading Sustainable Development and Urbanization Unit of the UNDP Country Office in Kazakhstan.
He participated in the development of the Concept of transition of Kazakhstan to a green economy, elaboration of the National Energy Report, and publication of the Specific Review of Energy Efficiency Policies of Kazakhstan. Many recommendations of the Report and the Review were implemented in current legislation. He also has extensive experience in international organizations, consultancy companies, and in cooperation with government bodies.
