Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects, Kazpravda.kz reports.
According to the press service of the First President of Kazakhstan, during the visit, the First President of Kazakhstan was briefed on the Center’s main work areas in the development of green economy and environmental safety.
Nazarbayev was presented a prototype of the digital platform that combines data about the potential of wind, solar, hydro and geothermal resources, location of solid waste landfills and biomass.
Nazarbayev emphasized the need for environmental safety, development of renewable energy sources in the country, introduction of advanced technologies in the solid waste processing and attracting investors to the industry.
The first President of Kazakhstan also familiarized with a number of projects and promising developments of Kazakhstan universities in the field of renewable energy sources.
The International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects (IGTIC) was established in April 2018 on the basis of the infrastructure and heritage of the exhibition Astana - EXPO 2017.
