Webinar – “Innovative technologies in water resources management”.

On December 18, 2024, the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects organized a webinar on innovative technologies in water resources management.

The webinar brought together representatives of government agencies, scientific institutions, businesses and international organizations to discuss relevant solutions and share experiences in the field of water conservation, wastewater treatment and ecosystem restoration.

Welcoming the participants, the moderator of the meeting, Academician Gulbazar Medvedeva, stressed the importance of the event’s theme. She noted that the introduction of innovative technologies plays a key role in the sustainable development of the water industry, especially in the context of climate change and increasing demand for water resources.

Welcoming remarks were made by Pavel Kazantsev, member of the Committee on Agrarian Issues of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Bekniyaz Bolat Kabykenovich, First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. They noted the need for international cooperation to address the global challenges of water management.

As part of the main program of the webinar, the speakers presented their reports:

  • Bulat Yesekin spoke about new water-saving tools aimed at reducing the water consumption of production.
  • Alexander Reybandt presented a self-sustaining technology for decarbonization and wastewater treatment.
  • Shavkat Kenzhabayev from Uzbekistan presented examples of successful implementation of technologies in water resources management.
  • Arman Utepov, ecosystem expert, spoke about technologies for restoring aquatic ecosystems.

At the end of the webinar, Dr. Zhanai Sagin, Doctor of Geosciences, and Tursun Ibraev, Deputy General Director of «KazSRIWE», discussed the effective use of flood waters and the application of innovations in the water industry in Kazakhstan.

The event ended with a question and answer session, where participants received detailed explanations on the topics presented. Following the results, the participants noted the importance of integrating modern technologies for effective water resources management, as well as the possibility of applying the best practices presented at the webinar.
