By the decision of the Sole Shareholder dated February 12, 2025, Saken Amangeldinovich Kalkamanov was elected as the Acting Chairman of the Management Board of the JSC «International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects»

Mr. Saken Amangeldinovich Kalkamanov graduated from L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University and Eurasian Humanitarian Institute. He graduated from L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University and Eurasian Humanitarian Institute. Total work experience of more than 26 years. He started his labor activity since 1997. He has experience in senior positions in state and quasi-state institutions, at different times he held the positions of Head of Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Akim of Turkestan region, KazMunaiGas EP JSC and KazAgro National Management Holding JSC, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board in Kazagromarketing JSC, as well as Managing Director of Zhasyl Damu JSC, where he supervised the Greenhouse and Climate Change block, including: greenhouse gas inventory; greenhouse gas trading system; greenhouse gas trading system.

Under his leadership, the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) was developed and presented to the international community, thus at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29, Baku), Kazakhstan was recognized as a leader in Central Asia in the implementation of climate goals established by the Paris Agreement.

In addition, Saken Amangeldinovich has developed a number of amendments to the “Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, which will allow to improve the emissions trading system in the future and to start realization of offset projects on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He was awarded the medal “Yeren eenbegi ushin”.
