As part of the international exhibition RES 2026 EXPO, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Nyssanbayev, visited the pavilions of leading Kazakhstani companies representing key industrial sectors.
During the tour of the exhibition, the Minister reviewed ongoing projects aimed at modernizing production facilities, introducing environmental technologies, and reducing the impact on the environment.
At the pavilion of Kazakhmys Corporation, initiatives of one of the country’s largest mining and metallurgical holdings were presented. The company is engaged in the extraction and processing of copper ore in the Karaganda and Ulytau regions and is implementing projects focused on improving the environmental performance of its operations and reducing industrial pressure on the environment.
The KAZ Minerals pavilion showcased modern high-tech solutions in copper mining and processing at two of the country’s largest production sites, Aktogay and Bozshakol. Among the company’s priorities are improving energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and ensuring the rational use of natural resources.
At the stand of Tengizchevroil LLP, projects of one of Kazakhstan’s largest oil and gas operators, developing the Tengiz field, were presented. The company is carrying out large-scale expansion projects while also implementing technologies aimed at reducing emissions and improving environmental safety.
The ERG exhibition highlighted the activities of one of the world’s leading ferroalloy producers, featuring projects on upgrading production capacities, introducing automated systems, and implementing environmental solutions designed to reduce environmental impact.
North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), the operator of the North Caspian Project, presented environmental monitoring technologies and solutions applied in the development of one of the largest offshore fields, Kashagan, with a focus on minimizing environmental risks.
At the QazTehna stand, solutions in the field of environmentally friendly urban transport were showcased, including the production of buses powered by gas motor fuel and electric traction, contributing to lower emissions in urban areas.
The national company KazMunayGas presented a comprehensive portfolio of projects aimed at modernizing the oil and gas sector, introducing environmental standards, and developing sustainable technologies across the entire value chain, from extraction to processing and transportation of hydrocarbons.
The Minister also separately reviewed the activities of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO), the operator of one of the world’s largest oil and gas condensate fields. The company is implementing projects focused on greening production processes, improving energy efficiency, and reducing emissions.
Following the visit, the Minister noted the high level of technological development demonstrated by Kazakhstani companies and emphasized the importance of their role in the transition to a green economy, the reduction of industrial impact on the environment, and the achievement of the country’s climate goals.
RES 2026 EXPO is taking place in Astana from April 22 to 24, 2026, as part of the Regional Environmental Summit, bringing together key market participants and serving as a platform to showcase advanced solutions in sustainable development.
