Prehistory

On behalf of the First President of Kazakhstan — Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, within the framework of the initiative announced in September 2015 during the 70th UN General Assembly, on the basis of infrastructure and heritage of the exhibition "ASTANA-EXPO 2017", the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 27, 2018 established the "International green technologies and investment projects Center" NJC (Center).

In the period from April 2018 to September 2019, the first Head was Rapil Zhoshybayev, professional diplomat, Commissioner of ASTANA EXPO 2017.

Since September 2019, by the decision of the Board of Directors, Ramazan Zhampiisov has been appointed Chairman of the Management Board. He has extensive experience in the field of energy and environmental protection. He headed the Department in the Kazakhstan office of the UNDP, from 2010 to 2018 - Executive Director of the Association "KAZENERGY", supervised the issues of sustainable development, interaction on environmental issues, social responsibility and transparency, development of international cooperation. In 2016, he was elected Vice-Chairman of the Bureau of the Committee on sustainable energy of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (ECE).

The center was presented to the world community on May 17, 2018 during the Global Challenges Summit 2018 AEF.
