Beijing hosts Kazakhstan-China International Forum on Green Development

In Beijing, the Kazakhstan-China International Forum on Green Development “Golden Bridge” of the Silk Road is taking place, with participation from the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, A.A. Shakkaliev, the Vice Minister of Ecology, M.T. Oshurbaev, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China, Sh.S. Nurychev, and the CEO of IGTIC Mr. Didar Karimsakov.

During meetings with Chinese colleagues, discussions were held on pressing issues related to sustainable development and support for green innovations, with a focus on enhancing trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

On September 12, the CEO of IGTIC participated in the opening ceremony of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). The CIFTIS exhibition, running until September 16, has gathered representatives from over 85 countries and international organizations, with Kazakhstan being represented for the first time. The exhibition covers 12 key sectors, including financial services, tourism, healthcare, and education. At the Kazakhstan national booth, alongside the NJSC “International Green Technologies and Investments Center” 14 other companies are represented, including JSC “National Company Kazakh Invest,” JSC “Export Credit Agency” JSC “Air Astana,” JSC “National Company Food Corporation,” as well as several private companies. Participation in the exhibition provides unique opportunities for expanding business connections, attracting investments, and promoting Kazakh goods and services on the international stage.

On September 14, as part of the Green Development Forum “Golden Bridge” of the Silk Road, Mr. Didar Karimsakov delivered an official speech, emphasizing the importance of international partnerships in promoting Kazakhstan’s green initiatives:

Our international partnership is key to advancing Kazakhstan’s green initiatives. We place particular emphasis on attracting green financing and climate investments to support sustainable projects, as well as exchanging best practices within the framework of global cooperation. Recently, we strengthened ties with China by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Technology Transfer Center of China-SCO. This partnership aims to stimulate the growth of our domestic green technology market,” said Mr. Didar Karimsakov.

The forum marks an important step in strengthening bilateral relations and creating conditions for further development of green technologies and sustainable development within the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China. Following the forum, the signing of mutually beneficial framework agreements and memoranda of cooperation is planned.
