On September 10, 2024, under the chairmanship of the Vice-Minister of Ministry of Ecology and natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Oshurbayev M.T., with the participation of representatives of government agencies, public environmental organizations and the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, a meeting of the BAT Committee was held to review and agree on BAT Handbooks: “Production of basic organic chemicals and polymers”, “Monitoring of pollutants in the atmosphere and water bodies”, “Wastewater treatment of centralized sewerage systems of populated areas”, “Production of titanium and magnesium”.
During the meeting, a report was heard from the head of the BAT Bureau of the NJSC “International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center” – B.B. Abenov, who shared information on the progress and current results of activities on the development of BAT reference books.
Based on the results of the vote, the specified BAT reference books were agreed upon by all members of the BAT Committee without any comments and recommended for submission to the authorized body in the field of environmental protection for the subsequent procedure of their approval by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
