IGTIC and UK Export Finance Discussed Opportunities for Joint Implementation of Green Projects

At the office of the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects (hereinafter referred to as the Center), a meeting was held under the leadership of Deputy Chairman Bekezhan Zhakeyev with a delegation from UK Export Finance (UKEF), headed by Mr. Vomic Nur Shah, the Global Head of Business Development and Client Engagement. The meeting was also attended by Sevara Madgazieva, Deputy Head of Export Finance for Central Asia at UKEF, and a representative from the British Embassy in Kazakhstan.

UKEF has extensive experience in financing large infrastructure projects worldwide, including those in water supply, clean energy, and agriculture.

During the meeting, plans for collaboration between the Center and UKEF were discussed to support Kazakhstan’s development program using credit limits of £5 billion allocated by UKEF to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Participants also shared the latest news from the financial markets of export credit agencies and ideas for financial solutions for priority projects in the country, such as the construction of waste recycling plants, methane projects, and others. Additionally, the activities of Apex Green Fund were presented, where Center is a limited partner.

As a result of the meeting, a mutual agreement was reached to implement joint initiatives and explore potential funding directions from UKEF for green projects from the pipeline of Apex Green Fund and Center.
