A meeting took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kyrgyz Republic between Saken Kalkamanov, Chairman of the Management Board of the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIPC), and Rapil Zhoshybayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan, who previously served as the first head of IGTIPC.
The key focus of the meeting was the continued development of the Free Economic Zone on the Kazakhstan–Kyrgyzstan border, as well as the potential for introducing advanced green technologies and attracting investments into sustainable projects within its territory. The parties emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation as a key driver of sustainable regional growth.
Special attention was given to the promotion of Kazakhstan’s Best Available Techniques (BAT) Bureau in the Kyrgyz market and the initiative to establish a Central Asian BAT Bureau. These steps aim to strengthen regional environmental governance mechanisms and expand the application of efficient and environmentally sound technologies.
The discussion also included the organization of a business forum with the participation of GCIP Green Accelerator finalists and representatives of the Kyrgyz business community. The forum will aim to foster business connections, explore joint projects, and scale green innovations within the existing economic frameworks.
