Kazakhstan Participates in the Second Regional Dialogue on Circular Economy in Central Asia

Almaty, October 13–14, 2025 The International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIC) took part in the Second Regional Dialogue on Sustainable Consumption, Production, and the Development of a Circular Economy, held in Almaty with the support of the SWITCH-Asia Programmeand the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).

The main focus of the dialogue was to develop a regional approach to the circular economy as a key tool for achieving sustainable growth and environmental security. The event featured parliamentary sessions, panel discussions, and experience-sharing among representatives from Central Asian countries, the private sector, and international organizations.

One of the central agenda items was the discussion of the draft Circular Economy Partnership Framework, which is expected to be launched as part of the Regional Environmental Summitinitiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and scheduled for April 2026 in Astana.

Kazakhstan presented its ongoing initiatives supporting the country’s circular transformation. Arman Kalykov, Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a presentation highlighting Kazakhstan’s experience –including the development of a comprehensive Waste Management Concept, enhancement of environmental regulation, advancement of the Green Accelerator, and promotion of sustainable technological solutions.

Kazakhstan’s participation in the regional dialogue reaffirmed the country’s active leadership in advancing sustainable development and circular economy principles across Central Asia. The conclusions and agreements reached during the event will contribute to preparations for the 2026 Regional Environmental Summit.
