Hong Kong – The International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIC) took part in Eco Expo Asia 2025, one of the world’s leading environmental technology exhibitions, held in Hong Kong.
Saken Kalkamanov, Chairman of the IGTIC Management Board, delivered remarks at the opening ceremony and participated in a forum dedicated to expanding environmental technologies into international markets.
“Kazakhstan has created a full ecosystem to attract investors in green technologies: solid legislative demand, an institutional partner, structured investment opportunities and, in 2026, an international platform as part of the Regional Environmental Summit in Astana. We invite technology companies and investors to cooperate and join the International Green Technologies Exhibition,” he stated.
During the event, Mr. Kalkamanov invited the global business community to take part in the Regional Environmental Summit (April 22–24, 2026, Astana), which will be held with the participation of the Heads of State of Central Asia. He also highlighted Kazakhstan’s favorable investment environment for clean-tech and climate innovation.
As part of the visit, Mr. Kalkamanov held an official meeting with Yu Huiwen, Vice Minister of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China. The parties discussed deepening cooperation in environmental technologies, environmental monitoring, and advancing joint pathways toward low-carbon development. They emphasized mutual interest in technology transfer, capacity development, and collaborative innovation.
A key outcome of the visit was the signing of cooperation memoranda between Kazhydromet, the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control of Kazakhstan, and Lihe Technology (China). Within the framework of these agreements, Lihe Technology will pilot the installation of advanced air and water monitoring systems across residential and industrial areas in Astana at no cost. This initiative marks the first step toward building a next-generation multi-level environmental monitoring system in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan’s participation in Eco Expo Asia 2025 represents an important milestone in strengthening international partnerships and promoting national green-technology initiatives on the global stage.
