Representatives of the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIC) actively participated in the 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), held in Belém, Brazil.
IGTIC served as an organizer and co-organizer of several high-level side events, presenting its regional initiatives in decarbonization, sustainable development, and green technology transfer. The Center’s team also held a series of strategic meetings with international partners to discuss investment opportunities, collaboration, and climate solutions.
Key events featuring IGTIC:
On 13 November 2025, IGTIC, together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, held a session titled “Investing in Decarbonization: The Green Technology Service Operator — Kazakhstan’s Model and Regional Perspectives” at the national pavilion. Aidar Yesembaev, Head of the Technology Commercialization Competence Office, presented the service operator model as a blended-finance mechanism for launching green projects across the region.
The Center also co-organized the session “Innovations for Climate Change Mitigation: Green Technologies and Regional Cooperation in Central Asia and Mongolia Using the GOSAT Satellite,” implemented jointly with the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, and Chuo University. Mr. Yesembaev highlighted the “Green Acceleration” initiative for Central Asia, based on Kazakhstan’s practical experience.
Participation in regional climate sessions included:
▪️ “From Commitments to Progress: Central Asia’s Climate Action through NDC 3.0 and Methane Reduction” (CAREC)
▪️ “Developing a Digital Carbon Platform in Central Asia” (Green Academy Research Center)
▪️ “Climate Migration and Green Skills in Central Asia” (IOM and Climate Project Office)
Bilateral meetings and promotion of initiatives:
On the sidelines of COP30, IGTIC held discussions with key international organizations and financial institutions, including the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the World Bank, as well as CTCN, CAAC, Carbon Mapper, and CATF. Particular attention was given to cooperation with KEITI (Republic of Korea), the Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), and Chuo University (Japan). These meetings provided an important platform for exploring opportunities for further collaboration, developing joint initiatives, and advancing Kazakhstan’s climate projects on the global stage.
Kazakhstan’s participation in COP30 represents a significant milestone in promoting national climate initiatives, strengthening regional leadership, and expanding cooperation in green technologies and sustainable development across Central Asia.
