Astana – Kazakhstan is set to establish its first domestic high-tech production facility for equipment used in monitoring air, water, and greenhouse gas emissions. Leading Chinese technology company Lihe Technology has officially announced its intention to invest USD 3 million in the construction of a laboratory and the localization of environmental equipment manufacturing in the country.
The announcement was made during the signing of a cooperation agreement between the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects (IGTIC) and Lihe Technology. The project предусматривает the creation of a modern production laboratory capable of manufacturing equipment for environmental monitoring and automation. At present, such equipment is produced exclusively in China. Once production is localized in Kazakhstan, the cost of these devices is expected to decrease by approximately 50 percent, significantly increasing their accessibility for government programs, research institutions, and the private sector.
Work is already underway to coordinate the project, identify a suitable construction site, and define technical requirements. The implementation of the initiative will create favorable conditions for the deployment of advanced environmental monitoring systems and will strengthen Kazakhstan’s technological capacity.
The signed agreement also provides for comprehensive support of Lihe Technology’s pilot project in Kazakhstan. IGTIC will offer analytical, organizational, and regulatory assistance, including coordination with government and quasi-public institutions.
