The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Nysanbayev, paid a visit to the office of the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects (IGTIC), where he was presented with the concept of the exhibition of the upcoming Regional Environmental Summit of Central Asia, RES + EXPO 2026, to be held in Astana.
During a working meeting with the participation of partners, the IGTIC management presented the key directions of the international exhibition, which is set to become the largest regional platform for discussing sustainable development, environmental protection, green technologies, and the climate agenda. The Minister was briefed on the goals and objectives of RES + EXPO 2026, participation formats for government bodies, businesses, international organizations, and the expert community, as well as the expected impact on the region’s environmental transformation.
A separate segment of the meeting was dedicated to presenting ideas and approaches under the “Taza Kazakhstan” concept, aimed at fostering environmental culture, promoting responsible attitudes toward the environment, and implementing practical solutions to improve the country’s environmental situation.
The discussion also addressed organizational preparations for the exhibition, the development of international cooperation, the attraction of investment in green technologies, and the formulation of joint solutions to key environmental challenges facing Central Asia.
Following the meeting, the Minister issued a number of instructions aimed at accelerating preparations for RES + EXPO 2026, strengthening coordination among stakeholders, and implementing a phased plan of further exhibition-related activities. The parties also underscored the strategic importance of the exhibition and the “Taza Kazakhstan” concept, noting the need to consolidate efforts of the government, business, and international partners to ensure the successful implementation of the environmental agenda and the promotion of sustainable development in the region.
