Kazakhstan Strengthens Environmental Partnership in Central Asia by Presenting Green Solutions at the Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 International Exhibition

The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Nysanbayev, and his counterpart from Uzbekistan, Aziz Abdukhakimov, jointly launched the Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 international exhibition. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, businesses, science, and civil society from Central Asian countries.

As part of the event, Kazakhstan presented its national exhibition pavilion, organized with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among the leading participants was the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects (IGTIPC), representing the country in both the expert and exhibition programs. The focus was placed on demonstrating Kazakhstan’s concrete steps in implementing national strategies for green growth, circular economy development, and reducing environmental impact.

During the opening ceremony, Yerlan Nysanbayev emphasized that such a symbolic beginning reflects the shared commitment of both countries to building a strong environmental partnership. He noted that the exhibition is becoming an important regional platform for exchanging experiences, promoting green initiatives, and jointly seeking sustainable solutions.

On the official opening day, IGTIPC held a panel session titled “Green Acceleration: GCIP-Kazakhstan Experience and the Prospects of Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Central Asia.” The focus was the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP), implemented in Kazakhstan in partnership with UNIDO and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The program supports startups in clean technologies, recycling, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.

The session featured presentations of:

  • FACEPLATE Project – digital solutions in industrial ecology;
  • Murat Beton Technology Project – green building materials;
  • A discussion on mechanisms for creating a regional startup ecosystem.

The session became a platform for dialogue among government authorities, the private sector, investors, and innovators, aiming to create cross-border conditions for the growth of green business.

Kazakhstan’s participation in Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 underscores its commitment to building a long-term and pragmatic environmental partnership in the region, aimed at technological modernization, sustainable development, and transforming approaches to economic growth.
