About GCIP program

The Global Clean Technology Innovation Program (GCIP) is one of the flagship programs of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and UNIDO, which promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of environmentally friendly technologies.

«International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center» NCJSC has been designated as the Implementing Organization of the Project in accordance with the letter of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 16, 2020 No. 13-04-107/I.

The program is designed to help the 16 participating countries organize a National Competition to identify innovators and expand its geographical coverage to create a global technology platform in the field of clean technologies.

The program is aimed at activating new enterprises in the field of clean technologies through strengthening institutional capacity and financial mechanisms for the development and implementation of innovative solutions in the field of clean technologies. GCIP approaches include pre-selection, acceleration and commercialization of start-ups, based on competition, to identify the most promising entrepreneurs in 7 areas:

How to participate

In order to identify and accelerate startups, annual Cleantech competitions are held to select 30-40 promising projects in the field of clean technologies that will attract public and private investment. As a result of the 3-year program, 100 new companies will be created with the help of government support, and 13 companies will be launched into the global clean technology market.
