Astana, August 16, 2024 – Temirlan Atarbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (hereinafter – the Center), held a meeting with Ullrich Kinne, Deputy Ambassador of Germany in Astana, and Assel Rysmagambetova from the Economic Department. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in sustainable development and green technologies.
Temirlan Atarbayev provided an overview of the Center’s work, highlighting its active role in supporting clean technology innovations through programs such as the Global Cleantech Innovation Program (GCIP) and educational initiatives under IGTIC Academia. He also noted the Center’s significant role in implementing a program to strengthen national capacity within the framework of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and highlighted that the Center is responsible for curating the content of the National Pavilion of Kazakhstan at the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) COP29.
The representatives of the German Embassy expressed their willingness to support further projects in green technologies, green financing, and to strengthen cooperation in the field of sustainable development.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue exchanging ideas and to jointly develop initiatives aimed at improving the environmental situation in Kazakhstan.
