As part of the Regional Environmental Summit and the international exhibition RES 2026 EXPO, Astana hosted the Green Runway Fashion Show for the first time, featuring sustainable fashion collections by designers from Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
The runway showcased collections that combined elements of national culture, contemporary design approaches, and the principles of sustainable fashion. The show brought together 9 designers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.
The participating designers and collections were: Aidarkhan Kaliyev, Kazakhstan – Zhibek Mura / Silk Heritage and Nomad Couture – Nomadic Couture: Tapestry and Fur; Tatyana Vorotnikova, Kyrgyzstan – Red Pattern; Khurshed Sattorov, Tajikistan – Shahnameh; Leyli Khaydova, Turkmenistan – Spring Colours of the Karakum Desert; Uzbekistan – New Spring; Gulnara Khalilova, Azerbaijan – Miniature and Upcycling; Hamida Inoyatova, Uzbekistan – Arabesques; Ruslan Imbergenov, Kazakhstan – Rebirth from Ashes; and Nafis Imranov, Tajikistan – TAMADDOON.
The fashion show brought together representatives of government bodies from Central Asian countries, international organizations, business, media, the fashion industry, the diplomatic corps, expert circles, as well as participants of the Summit and RES 2026 EXPO.
The Central Asian Green Runway became an important part of the Summit’s cultural programme, bringing together fashion, the environmental agenda, and regional identity.
