Kazakhstan and Poland: exchange of experience through BAT

The Kazakhstan BAT Bureau held a meeting on 29th of November, 2021 with representatives of the Republic of Poland with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Poland in organizing the event. The meeting was attended by Polish experts from the Ministry of Climate and Environment of the Republic of Poland, representatives of the Association of Power Plants and representatives of the Polska Grupa Gornicza, a coal mining company. At the meeting, the Polish side shared its experience in the application of BAT, especially in the energy sector, and controversial issues within the European Union regarding the BAT Conclusions were discussed. Poland is one of the first countries with which the national BAT Bureau has established contact to exchange experience in the field of BAT, both sides intend to develop further cooperation.

For your information, the Polish energy sector is coal-intensive, what is similar to the energy situation in Kazakhstan. Therefore, taking a closer look on the experience of Poland in the transition to BAT and alternative energy sources is of strategic importance for the expert community of Kazakhstan.
