24 April 2019, in the village of Gulshat in Karaganda region took place the official opening ceremony of the solar power plant SES "Gulshat" with a capacity of 40 megawatts, with the participation of akim of Karaganda region Yerlan Koshanov, Vice-Minister of energy of Kazakhstan Sungat Esimkhanov, Director of EBRD in Kazakhstan Agris of Pramanik, representatives of the owners of the station solar Risen Energy Co. Ltd., Kazakhstan solar energy Association, other officials and the public of the Karaganda region and the city of Balkhash.
The construction of the Gulshat station was launched on June 7, 2018. The work was completed in eight months. The total investment amounted to 46 million dollars due to foreign direct investment of foreign investor Risen Energy Co. Ltd. and a long-term loan from the European Bank for reconstruction and development.
